X2000NC for producing door strikers

An illustrative example of a modular tool set on an X2000NC line for the production of door strikers from 8 mm wire.

Sample tool set for door striker production:
Striker sprinter tool, 3 stations, 2 m back wall, feeding of coil material via NC roller infeed, cycle output: approx. 60 pcs/min, ready-to-use, weight approx. 10 t

Door striker production

With these specifications, our X2000NC is the world’s fastest system for the production of door strikers for the automotive industry. With tool changes, different striker shapes can be achieved, as well as processing details such as upsetting or tapering at wire ends.

Our one-of-a-kind production model enables cycle times of more than 60 pcs/minute. For this reason, we’d prefer not to share the technical details of our strategy online. If you’re interested, please arrange a meeting with a member of our field sales team.

Incidentally, we also build assembly systems for coupling door strikers to striker plates.

Custom metal forming solutions – X2000NC for door striker production

Door strikers (strikes) are used in several places in every passenger car and are an important safety component in motor vehicles. On type X2000NC production systems made by Schmale Maschinenbau GmbH, door strikers are produced fully automatically at high rates of output. Multiple forming processes – involving bending sliders and servo-electric presses – are used for bending, flattening and swaging the wire. Door striker machines from Schmale are used by automotive parts suppliers to manufacture strikes for virtually every brand of car. Which is hardly surprising, since our X2000NC – as the world’s fastest system for the production of door strikers for the automotive industry – is considered the gold standard for machines of this type. By changing the tool die, a great many shapes and sizes of strikes can be achieved, and with processing details such as upsetting or tapering at the ends of the wire.

Our one-of-a-kind production model enables cycle times of more than 60 pieces a minute. Apart from the strike itself, we also design and build assembly systems for the fully automated coupling of door strikers to striker plates, including upset forging or welding.
